We turned up at the Mount Hot Pools and were immediately shown around by welcoming staff. They pointed out the accessible changing facilities, the water wheelchair, the hoist (with a sling) and delighted us by saying that entry was FREE to anyone with a physical disability PLUS their caregiver. They understand the need for people with limited mobility to experience the warm natural salt water as an essential therapy.
We were able to park right outside the building which is located right under The Mount close to the beach and restaurants!
There has been a recent three-day closure where they have undergone extensive refurbishments of the facility so I imagine it must look even better than when we visited.
A real must-do if visiting Tauranga – a very relaxing experience.
